ARTS
CREATED TOGETHER (ACT)
2006-2007
What is ACT?
ACT is a town-wide program that brings enriching arts
related programs and performances to students at each of Lexington’s
elementary schools. Each school has its own ACT Committee to raise
money and schedule events.
What kind of performances and programs?
This year's events include:
MIT's Mr. Magnet, Pumpernickel Puppets, PB&J Dance, Mother Goose,
Fun with Pyramids & Pharaohs, an MFA trip and more...
At Bridge, ACT aims to provide at least one school
wide performance each year. In addition, each grade level will enjoy
one event appropriate and complimentary to the school’s curriculum such
as storytellers, writer’s workshops with authors and illustrators,
creative movement and museum programs involving history. Some of the
funding has also been used to enhance the music and art programs at
Bridge School.
How are these events funded?
ACT is solely funded by donations and the "Walk for
the Arts".
How can you help keep these programs alive at
Bridge?
The primary fundraiser for ACT is the “Walk for the
Arts Festival” which was held on Saturday, October 14. Your
support of the ACT is greatly appreciated.
