Bridge School Improvement Plan |
|
Bridge's School Improvement Plan 2009-2010 The School Improvement Plan is a strategic plan for meeting the District and school goals for the year. For consistency sake, the six elementary schools have very similar plans. The first two goals are the same across all six schools. They reflect the District goals for Literacy and Mathematics and state that by June of 2010, our goal is that 80% of all students will meet proficiency on literacy and math benchmarks within the regular classroom (Tier 1 instruction) and those students identified as below proficiency will demonstrate a 15% improvement (Tier 2 & 3 instruction). The third goal, Community Building, is more specific to each individual school and reflects the feedback from the needs assessment survey and other sources. Referencing our Bridge School mission statement, our goal is to increase opportunities for all stakeholders to feel that they function in a “nurturing environment that appreciates individual differences, fosters emotional well-being and builds community out of 'diversity'.” The projects we have identified for the year include: implementing the LPS diversity curriculum, developing a Pen Pal program and Family to Family Connection for our incoming Avalon students and their families, piloting a social-emotional assessment and interventions, further developing the Bridge School Constitution with the children, improving our intake procedures for incoming students, and promoting initiatives to improve the health and safety of students.
