SPRING CLEANING

Join the Bridge Community Service Committee for a quick spruce up of your school grounds on Wednesday June 22 immediately following dismissal.  Enjoy a snack, help us wash the walls, and pick up the trash.  Parent supervision required.  Rain date: Friday June 24. Contact Amy White at amywhite@rcn.com

CRITIC'S CORNER KIDS:    Please return all your books to Mrs. Litchfield.  Thank you!

FUN SUMMER READING

Hot off the press! Watch your child's backpack for the Bridge School Favorite Books Lists, voted most popular by students at Bridge.  Thanks to Cindy Woods, they are also online at
http://bridge.lexingtonma.org/library/booklist.html     Each child is also receiving Going Places @ Your Library, a list created by the school and public librarians and we will have a special Summer Reading Program on June 22 at Bridge Library for all students to find out about the exciting summer events at Cary Library, as well as other public libraries around the state. Happy Summer Reading!

CONCERNED ABOUT THE SPRING ST AND MARRETT RD INTERSECTION?

There will be a public meeting of the Lexington Town Planning Committee on Tuesday, June 28 at the Cary Library Meeting Room at 7 PM to seek input about this intersection. Come have your voices heard on Traffic Improvements at Marrett Road and Spring Street.  Outside consultants have been hired to help with the traffic planning of this area and they want to hear from residents.  Please come listen
and give your input.

PILOT PROGRAM FOR SAFE WALKING/BIKING ROUTES TO BRIDGE SCHOOL

WE NEED YOU!  Next fall, Bridge School will be the pilot site for a "Safe Routes to School" program in Lexington.  The program encourages walking and biking to school by creating safe routes to and from the school.  A core group of parents, from various neighborhoods within the Bridge district, are needed to meet and create these routes.  We hope to create a "living school bus" of children who walk to school along designated routes, as well as to improve the opportunities for biking and independent walking to school.  Please help us make this a reality for Bridge.  We anticipate a couple of meetings over the summer to evaluate options, and create the routes.  If you are interested, please contact Jill Hai at jih2@cornell.edu or Tracey Herbert (herbert.family@rcn.com) or Craig Weeks (jwc.home@worldnet.att.net).

THANK YOU!

The Connections Committee would like to thank all of the parents and teachers who have given so much time and energy to our school.  We would like to thank the following people for their involvement with our children:  Mr. Chamberlain, Stu Jacobson, Ludy Liu, Lisa Weiler, Liza Connolly, Susan Caftan, Kathy Boudett, Diane Laurenzi, Bernadette Sewell, Liz Coolidge, and Christina Sym.

ATTENTION PARENTS OF FIFTH GRADERS:

As a reminder, please fill out the directory form enclosed in your child's Clarke packet.  This form can also be found in the Clarke newsletters (5th grade parents should have received the last two newsletters from Clarke) or on the web  - http://clarke.lexingtonma.org/forms/CLARKE_DIRECTORY.doc.  Please return completed directory forms to the JCSA mailbox at Clarke or mailed to JCSA, 17 Stedman Road, Lexington, MA 02421     Prompt return of this form will ensure that your information gets captured in the 2005-2006 Clarke directories.  If you have any questions, please contact Shirley Go at 781-861-8790 or email at j.go@rcn.com.
